Resolution Declaring April As Donate Life Month In The Town Of Wappinger
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls,
New York, on April 13, 2026.

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilman Phillips.
WHEREAS, organ, eye, and tissue donation offers hope and healing to thousands of individuals and
families awaiting life-saving and life -enhancing transplants; and
WHEREAS, more than 100,000 individuals across the United States are currently on the national
transplant waiting list, with many more in need of tissue and cornea donations; and
WHEREAS, a single organ donor can save up to eight lives and enhance the lives of many others through
tissue and cornea donation; and
WHEREAS, National Donate Life Month is observed each April to raise awareness about the importance
of registering as an organ, eye, and tissue donor and to honor those who have given the gift of life; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger recognizes the generosity of donors and their families, as well as the
dedication of medical professionals and organizations that make transplantation possible; and
WHEREAS, increasing public awareness and encouraging donor registration can help save lives and
strengthen communities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, do hereby proclaim
the month of April as National Donate Life Month in the Town of Wappinger; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all residents are encouraged to learn more about organ, eye, and tissue
donation, to consider registering as donors, and to share their decision with their families; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town of Wappinger reaffirms its support for efforts that promote
awareness, education, and participation in donor registration programs.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
