Resolution Appointing Seasonal Laborers In The Buildings And Grounds Department
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County,
New York, held at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on April 13,
2026.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph D. Cavaccini, Town Supervisor, and upon roll

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilman
Phillips.
WHEREAS, the Town Board has determined that hiring seasonal employees in the Buildings and
Grounds Department to assist with the repairs and maintenance of Town owned parks and facilities
is necessary, and
WHEREAS, the Rules of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources authorizes the
appointment of employees by the Town on a seasonal basis, and
WHEREAS, Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini and Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds
Salvatore Messale recommend the appointment of five employees as full time seasonal Laborers in
the Buildings and Grounds Department, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The Town Board hereby appoints Thomas Johnston as Seasonal Laborer who shall be
compensated at $21.33 per hour with a starting date retroactive to April 6, 2026
2. The Town Board hereby appoints Francis Steinhauer as Seasonal Laborer who shall be
compensated at $21.33 per hour with a starting date retroactive to April 8, 2026.
3. The Town Board hereby appoints William Moloney as Seasonal Laborer who shall be
compensated at $21.00 per hour with a starting date of April 13, 2026.
4. The Town Board hereby appoints Rafael Mendez Santiago as Seasonal Laborer who
shall be compensated at $21.00 per hour with a starting date of April 20, 2026.
S. The Town Board hereby appoints Ryan Tomlins as Seasonal Laborer who shall be
compensated at $21.00 per hour with a starting date of April 20, 2026.
6. This appointment is a seasonal appointment in accordance with the rules of the
Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
7. This appointment is subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department of
Human Resources and is further subject to Civil Service Law and the Rules of New York
State and the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
8. Directs the Personnel Administrator to complete all necessary documentation for said
appointments to be filed with the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
The 2026 Budget makes appropriations for these positions.
