The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Phillips and seconded by Councilman Beale.
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger recognizes the countless contributions women have made throughout
history in shaping our community, state, and nation; and
WHEREAS, women have played a vital role in advancing progress in all fields, including government,
education, business, science, the arts, and public service; and
WHEREAS, Women's History Month is celebrated annually in March to honor the achievements,
leadership, and resilience of women and to promote the continued pursuit of equality and opportunity;
and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger is proud to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of the
women who have strengthened our community through their leadership, service, and dedication; and
WHEREAS, it is important to recognize both the historic and ongoing contributions of women, while
inspiring future generations to continue breaking barriers and building a more inclusive society;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger does hereby
proclaim the month of March as Women's History Month in the Town of Wappinger; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all residents are encouraged to honor the achievements of women past
and present and to support efforts that promote equality, empowerment, and opportunity for all.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
