Resolution Establishing Pay Scale For Seasonal Interns For The Town of Wappinger
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls,
New York, on January 12, 2026.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph D.

The following Resolution was introduced by Casella and seconded by Councilman Beale.
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger utilizes seasonal student collegiate -level interns to support the
operations of various Town departments, including but not limited to the Office of the Town Supervisor,
the Town Comptroller's Office, the Office of Code Enforcement, and the Parks & Recreation Department;
and
WHEREAS, these internship positions provide valuable support to Town operations while offering hands-
on governmental experience to students pursuing higher education; and
WHEREAS, funding for seasonal collegiate -level interns has been duly provided for in the adopted 2026
Budget of the Town of Wappinger; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:
1. The recitations above are incorporated herein as if fully set forth and adopted within this
Resolution.
2. The Town Board hereby establishes the hourly wage for all seasonal student collegiate -level
interns employed or to be employed by the Town of Wappinger for the calendar year 2026 at a rate
of Seventeen Dollars ($17.00) per hour, to be paid weekly commencing with the first Friday
following the start of employment.
The Town Supervisor and the appropriate Department Heads are authorized to employ seasonal/part-
time student collegiate -level interns in accordance with the above -referenced salary and in compliance
with the practices and policies of the Town of Wappinger, as funded in the 2026 Budget.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
