Resolution Authorizing Town Planner To Perform Work Regarding Town Zoning Updates
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls,
New York, on October 14, 2025.

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Phillips and seconded by Casella.
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger adopted updates to the Town Code and Comprehensive Plan
earlier this year to guide future growth and development within the Town; and
WHEREAS, in order to implement these updates, it is necessary to review and rezone certain properties within the
Town to ensure consistency with the Comprehensive Plan, with particular attention to limiting density, examining
realistic allowable yields of land, evaluating water and sewer capacity, protecting wetlands, steep slopes,
ridgelines, buffers, access onto collector roads, and other planning considerations; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has determined that professional planning assistance is required to complete this
rezoning process in a manner that protects the character of the Town, prevents overdevelopment, and maintains
the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Laberge Group, as the Town Planner, has submitted a proposal to perform the necessary rezoning
work at a cost not to exceed $17,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has determined that the funding for this project shall be provided from the B -Fund
Balance; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger hereby authorizes Town
Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini to enter into a contract with the Laberge Group to perform work related to the
rezoning of properties consistent with the Town Code and Comprehensive Plan updates adopted earlier this year;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini is hereby authorized to
sign said contract on behalf of the Town; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the cost of said services shall not exceed $17,000.00, to be
funded from the Town's B -Fund Balance.
