Resolution Recognizing September 2025 As National Preparedness Month In The Town Of Wappinger
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on September 22, 2025.
The meeting was called to order by Joseph D. Cavaccini, Town Supervisor, and upon roll being called,

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Phillips and seconded by Casella.
WHEREAS, emergencies and disasters of all types -whether natural, technological, or man -made -can occur at any
time, often without warning; and
WHEREAS, being prepared for emergencies can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that accompany disasters, and
preparedness saves lives, protects property, and strengthens community resilience; and
WHEREAS, National Preparedness Month, held each September, is a nationwide campaign that encourages
individuals, families, businesses, and communities to take steps to prepare for emergencies by making plans,
building emergency supply kits, staying informed, and getting involved in community preparedness efforts; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger recognizes the importance of ensuring that all residents are aware of the
potential risks they face, and are empowered to take proactive steps to protect themselves and their loved ones;
and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger is committed to supporting emergency preparedness efforts, strengthening
local partnerships, and encouraging readiness throughout the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger does hereby proclaim
September 2025 as National Preparedness Month in the Town of Wappinger, and calls upon all residents,
businesses, and community organizations to take action to improve their emergency preparedness and resilience.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
