Resolution Promoting Groundskeeper To Full Time Senior Groundskeeper In The Buildings And
Grounds Department
At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger, Dutchess County, New York, held
at Town Hall, 20 Middlebush Road, Wappingers Falls, New York, on June 23, 2025.

The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Beale and seconded by Casella.
WHEREAS, David Pilon has been employed in the Buildings and Grounds Department as a Groundskeeper, and
WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds advises that David Pilon exhibits strong work ethic in operating
machinery and completing tasks in the grounds division of the Buildings and Grounds Department, and
WHEREAS, the position of Senior Groundskeeper is appropriate for David Pilon through his duties in assisting the
Head Groundskeeper and work crews in the Buildings and Grounds Department, and
WHEREAS, the full time Senior Groundskeeper position is a Labor position under Civil Service Law which is not
subject to competitive examination, and
WHEREAS, the full-time Senior Groundskeeper position is subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining
Agreement between the Town of Wappinger and Teamsters Local 445 ("CBA"),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. David Pilon is hereby appointed to the full-time civil service job title Senior Groundskeeper, effective June
24,202S.
2. David Pilon shall be compensated at the hourly rate of $25.00 which shall be paid in weekly installments,
in accordance with the CBA.
3. The appointment is subject to the approval of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources and
is further subject to Civil Service Law and the Rules of New York State and the Dutchess County Department of
Human Resources.
The appointment is subject to a probationary term of not less than eight or more than twenty-six weeks in
accordance with the rules of the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources.
The foregoing was put to a vote which resulted as follows:
